Original Color Scripting

I used the most current version of the project from the past few semesters, taking a screen shot every time the camera changed. By compiling all the screen shots, resizing them to small thumbnails and string them together in consecutive order we were able to  get an overall feel of the film. Or in this case we, as a class, felt there was no overall theme rather just a chaotic jumble.  I suggested that the animated scenes seemed to be swallowing the main characters were as the scenes with live film were bland and washed out. The class agreed. We decided to try and tone down the backgrounds, and try to find a muted palette that would convey more of a flow from scene to scene.

Super Color Palette

The color palette on the left was the color palette that I created for everyone, working on the 'Super' project, to use. The color palette on the right is the color palette I created after the last color adjustments were done to the original backgrounds. The palette just needed to be altered slightly and a few of the colors need to be altered or expanded. We made so many adjustments to the palette to ensure the colors used throughout the animated portions would blend well together with the animated portions of the film as well as the live action scenes.
