Created this for the Mini Car project. I used different parts of the flower to create parts of the car design.

Environment Design and the characters - Gromblor the Bold and Winky the Emotionally Challenged Bullfruit.

Winky the Emotionally Challenged Bullfruit

Gromblor the Bold
MINI Cooper Art Car Design
Dandelion Dreams vinyl car wrap was created for a competition put on by the Grand Rapids MINI Car Dealership and Kendall College of Art and Design. The goal was to create an 'art car' design illustrating aspects of the MINI car brand. The top designs were displayed at Art Prize 2012. My design was shown at the International Auto Show 2012 and at the Grand Rapids 2012 Art Prize.
Gromblor the Bold and Winky the Emotionally Challenged Bullfruit
The characters Gromblor and Winky, and the forest environment design, were created as a proposal for a children's TV show. The premise of the show is to help kids understand and deal with complicated issues such as racism, inclusion, bulling and other difficulties that children might face in a fun and entertaining way. This project went through many different design and revision phases, presenting each phase to my teacher and a group of peers for critiques. Overall, I am very pleased with the results and hope to explore the characters and their story in the future.
Weather For Kids - An Educational Tool for the Classroom and Home
Weather for Kids was designed to enhance several major learning objectives that are covered in grades 1 through 5; environmental science, prediction, graphing, and more. This was a semester-long project where we went through the design process to produce a Flash based, interactive piece with frequent check points, individual and peer critiques, and a final class presentation. I used Adobe Flash and Illustrator to create the design elements combined with research on teaching weather and math to elementary school children. The seasonal backgrounds change on the equinoxes or solstices. Each new season features weather conditions that are appropriate to that season, with an animation to make clicking on the icon more fun. An extensive, child appropriate vocabulary section can be accessed in all seasons, as well as two different graphing sections; a simple graphing section for grades 1 - 3 where you can graph the weather for the each day of the week, and an expanded graphing section for grades 4 - 5, for graphing day and night. I am still working out some of the kinks and hope to have the interactive graphing and monthly charting features up and running shortly. There is a link to this project at the bottom of this section for your viewing pleasure.
